Batman Batarang Working Prop /paper Machea
hello people today were going to make some absolutely awesome batarang's that will fly so well but safely and legal at the same time so you can pretend your brother is a crook and then you fly loads of safe batarangs at him HAHAHAAA!!!.
Materials
in order to do this instructable you'll need
1. thick cardboard (recommend cardboard from boxes)
2. P.V.A glue
3. paint brushes
4. paints
5. news paper
6. scissors/knife
Getting the Template
1.you can draw you own batarang if you fill really artistic or print out the template above like i have done
2.glue or draw template on card with any glue you like i have used p.v.a which takes quit a wile to dry
3. then cut out you should use a knife so you dont crush the cardboard
looks quite cool at the moment but because your a part of the instructables community you want it to be to perfection looks real and flys like the real thing hopefully!!
Paper Mache
now we are going to paper mache the batarang so we can add detail and add wait so it will glide across the air
1.get some news paper and cut into little strips
2.make the paste you'll need 50/50 ratio of glue to water
3.paint the batarang with you p.v.a paste
4.put the news paper on you cool batmerang then paint the paste on it again you should d about 4-5 layers of paper mache
5.let dry so its ready paint
Painting
now where going to paint the batarang look like the most epic prop ever
1 let the batarang dry completely
2.paint 2-3 coats of black alyic paint so its harder to see the lines in the paper
3. if you want you can dry brush the edges in silver but i won't do this becase batarangs are fully black most of time on the movies. dry brushing is where you put some paint on a flat ended brush then wipe off off on some kitchen roll and paint the prop. have fun with you new prop hahaahaaaaha happy Halloween!!
