Wooden Quick Release Plate for a Camera Tripod

It's amazing what you can do with wood, someone gave me this Tripod as a gift but had no base to place the camera, so I've decide to make my own with #plywood and it came out great now I can shoot videos better with this cool Solidex Tripod with no problems video will be out soon on how I've made this base.

• 1/4 in+20 5/8 in Stainless Screws

• Black Thin Foam
• Cropadile Hole Punch

First get your tripod place a paper on top of the tripod base then with your pen draw a template around the base of your tripod, once you have the sketch plan cut with your scissors.

Get your template and make sure it fits on the base. With the template you will draw on your thin plywood with your pen to transfer the size you need for the cut. Once that is done take your plywood to the scroll saw and cut the shape that you need. After cutting your piece make sure to use your sandpaper and make the plywood smooth on the edges. Once you finish sanding, the plywood should fit perfectly on the base make sure to try it before you proceed with the project to make sure everything is good.

With a pencil and a ruler find the center of the piece. On your Workbench with a small clamp, secure the wood piece and at the center that you have found previously make a hole with your drill bit and also counter sink so the screw is flushed.

Assemble your camera support hardware to the plywood base.

With your pen you will create the template to cut the thin foam, then cut the shape with your scissors. With your Punch Hole make a hole in the center, then get your epoxy and put some on the metal washer and then attached the foam piece that you have done to the metal washer. Make sure you let the epoxy dry for about 12 to 24 hours and then your project has been completed.

Assemble all your pieces place the Wooden Quick Release Plate on the tripod and congrats! Now your camera is secure and firm and you can start filming your videos.
