Wood Shim Pumpkin
Since it's so hard to find good Halloween decorations these days I made my own. This pumpkin is created with wood shims that I bought at Lowe's.

Glue Wood Shims Together
The first thing you're going to do is glue 4 wood shims together with whatever kind of glue you choose to use. One is glued together with E6000 glue and the other is glued together with a hot glue gun. After the glue is dry then you can move on to the next step. The E6000 glue took 24 hours to fully dry. The hot glue gun only took minutes.
Paint Your Pumpkin
Next, you are going to paint the wood shims after the glue has fully dried. You can use whatever paint and whatever color you want. I used orange acrylic paint. Set the painted wood shims aside and them dry completely.
Create the Pumpkin Stem
Next, you will make the stem for the top of your pumpkin. I used a handsaw and trimmed down another wood shim to a smaller size for my stem.
Paint the Pumpkin Stem
Next, you're going to paint the pumpkin stem. I used brown acrylic paint but you can use whatever paint and color that you want. I didn't paint the bottom of the stem because that's the part that's going to be glued onto your pumpkin. Set aside the stem so it can fully dry.
Give Your Pumpkin a Face
Next, you will make a face for your pumpkin if you choose to do so. I created my pumpkin's face with my Cricut cutting machine and some black permanent vinyl. Once your pumpkin is fully dried from being painted you can give it a face. It can be whatever kind of face that you want. You can even use a stencil and some paint.
Glue on the Pumpkin Stem
Next, you will glue the fully dried pumpkin stem to the top of your pumpkin. Use whatever glue you want, I used a hot glue gun.
Add a Hanger
Next, you're going to add a way to hang your pumpkin. I used some twine and hot glued it to the back of the pumpkin behind the stem. You can use whatever kind of hanging system you want.
