This natural wood coat rack is super easy to make with just a few tools and one piece of nice cender wood that looks amazing. It's a fairly easy and quick build.

Skill: Medium (drilling,cutting, maths,sanding)

Tools: miter saw, table saw, planer, bandsaw, , drill, rafter square, sander

Note: You could certainly build this without a bandsaw, but you would need a jigsaw to make those nice curves and a sander to make it nice and smooth.

Materials: Below is what I used for this build, but feel free to use different hardwoods if you find some boards that look nice:

  • 5/4 x 6 x 12' (1pc)
  • 3x4 screws will need about 15
  • 3 long nails for hangers
  • Square drill bit
  • little drill bit to pre drill holes so don't crack wood.

Cut the Wood

  • the two 15 inch piece of wood cut a nice little curve in it with a jigsaw and then sand it down smooth. what i did is cut one first the trace it to make them the same. You don't have to put the curve in okay can just put it in not cut i just thought it would look good like that.

Put It Together

  • The two 30 insh pieces connect how you see them in the picutre out the one nice and even with eh bottom of the to side pieces where you can put your nails in for hangers. the top on put 3 inchs above the top of the piece for a little places to put stuff on. put screws in each side make sure you pre drill be for putting the screws in or else you will crack the wood.

  • Cut a piece of wood to 31 inches to put on the top as you see in the picture. Make sire it is even on the top so it looks good and pre drill you holes so the wood doesn't crack. and sand the edges to make it nice and smooth and so it looks good.
