Wood Burning

unnamed.jpg

Hi my name is Alex I am a bulldog maker. Today I'm going to do step-by-step to instruct a wood burning project to display a image using the wood cutting machine to in grave a image on it

Supplies

your material that you are going to put your design on(wood, cardboard, and plastic) you also are going to need a computer and a wood burning machine

Image

Find an image you would like to put on the material( Animal, pet, person, drawing, object, games,) HINT- less detail = less time more detail = more time. I'm going to use cardboard first as a prototype to see how it would look. usually, you can start making it but depending on how detailed your image is I recommended creating a prototype to see how it would look like however, you don't have to do it.

Download to Files

IMG_3700.jpeg

download the image on your computer and save it to your files with a name you can remember so you can find it when you are going to need it later.

Find Corel Vector

search up corel vector and sign/log in

How to Set Up the Sizing

IMG_3702.jpeg

where it shows the sizes click on it and make 12 by 12 and press where it shows in what size and press inches

How to Import

0.jpg

as you are in Corel vector click on the top left of your screen press import and look up the image you chose with the name you made

How to Vectorize Your Image

unnamed.jpg

press modify and go down until you see path, press that, and click vectorize image wait for the image to vectorize on (the first image I used was too detailed and would not work but at least check if it can

How to Make It Look Good

0.jpg

if the image isn't black and white I would highly recommend changing it so it can be easier for the machine to read it and look how you want it to look (take out necessary parts that you don't need in the vectorized image

How to Export It

0.jpg

Now since you are done with that it's time to export it, export it to PNG if you want it all to be one image and together as one, or export it to SVG so you're able to choose which part you want darker, brighter, or the same.

How to Get Glow Force

unnamed.jpg

search and download "glow forge" and sign/log in now since you are in there press Create new design and upload the file that you saved whether that was svg or png

Machine

Turn on the machine if its not already on

unnamed.jpg

open and place the material you are using to display the image that you want and close the lid of the machine

unnamed-1.jpg

On the laptop click the material you are using on the top left of the screen

unnamed-2.jpg

resize the image and change the darkness or brightness if needed

unnamed-3.jpg

on the top left press print and it will give the time for how long it will take HINT- the bigger and more detail the more time it will take

unnamed-4.jpg

if you're satisfied with how it looks press print and it should say to press the button on the machine and press that and give it a minute and it should start!

unnamed-5.jpg

make sure to stay by it to see if it's messing up or if something is going wrong to stop it before it's too late

Almost There
