Steel wire (gauge 12-20, depending on desired rigidity)

Wire cutters

Needle-nose pliers

If you want then you can design the 3D shape of sculpture in fusin 360 using shapes and mesh from tools in fusion 360 other wise you can directly start making with wire and forming shape as per imogination.

You can also use the pre designed available at Autodesk gallery

Design in Fusion 360:

  1. Begin by sketching a basic wireframe model in Fusion 360. You can use the line tool to trace the outline of the figure.
  2. Once the 2D sketch is complete, extrude the design to form a 3D wireframe.
  3. The virtual wireframe can be used as a reference for bending and joining the wires in real life.

Steps 2.

Cut the steel wire in small small pices to join togather and form shape. Cut the wire as per your sculpture length need

Step 3.

Cut the wire in pices then twist them togather forming the braches to twist and join them togather

Bending the Wire:

  1. Follow your Fusion 360 design and bend the wire manually or with the pliers into the desired shapes. The bending technique can be used to create loops, twists, and intersections to enhance the 3D aesthetic.
  2. Start from the larger parts (e.g., body structure) and work towards the finer details (e.g., limbs, facial features).

Joining Wires with Soldering:

  1. Once you have shaped the individual pieces, the next step is to solder them together.
  2. Ensure that the joints are properly soldered by heating both wire ends using a soldering iron and applying the solder wire at the joint.
  3. Wait for the solder to cool down and solidify, which will hold the parts firmly in place.
  4. For larger sculptures, consider adding reinforcements at the major joints for extra stability.

Shaping and Adjustments:

  1. After soldering, make final adjustments to the structure. Bend or re-align any parts that may have shifted during soldering.
  2. Depending on the material and the flexibility of the wire, you can also reshape portions of the sculpture by applying gentle pressure.

Final Touches:

  1. Optionally, you can spray-paint the sculpture or coat it with a rust-prevention finish if you're using materials prone to oxidation.
  2. Place the sculpture on a display base or continue shaping it into dynamic forms as needed.
