Windshield De-icing, Easy
This is so simple, it almost seems unnecessary to post. Yet once while I was driving, my windshield iced over. I stopped at a gas station. I was road ready after a quick stop before the two vehicles that had arrived before me, with the drivers battling ice with a scraper.
So here goes, my first post:

Windshield De-icing, Easy
Keep in your vehicle :
- an ice scraper
- 2 pints of rubbing alcohol
- a large thick cloth. (I keep sweat pants for multiple uses.)

Windshield De-icing, Easy
Turn off the engine.
Place cloth(ing) across windshield.
Pour a pint of rubbing alcohol on the cloth. (Perhaps other de-icing products could be used.)
The cloth prevents the rapid evaporation of the alcohol or other de-icing products.
Allow to sit 5 to 10 minutes.
Check the ice for melting.
When melting has begun, scrape off the ice.
Store the clothing in a trash bag.
You should be road ready.
I left my extra rubbing alcohol behind for others.
