Whimsical Pumpkin Carve
This is a super easy pumpkin carve that will be sure to bring smiles on halloween night! This design is unique because it is spooky in a playful way!
Supplies
1x big pumpkin
1x marker
1x serrated knife or pumpkin carving tool
1x ice cream scooper
1x bowl (to put scooped pumpkin insides)
1x tea-light candle (optional)
Grab Your Pumpkin!
Step one, grab a big, round, and clean pumpkin. Gather all your materials and find a place to work where you don't mind it getting messy.
Hollow Your Pumpkin
Draw a big circle on the bottom of your pumpkin. Then, carve out the circle. Remember to keep the cut out circle for later. Then, use the ice cream scooper to scoop all the insides clean. Remember, remove all the seeds and pulp, otherwise the pumpkin will look sloppy and will rot faster.
Draw the Design
Use the marker to draw the design on the front of the pumpkin. Copy the design carefully, but if you make a mistake it is ok to erase with a wet towel and try again. You can add extra elements to the design if you wish.
Carve It
Use the knife (or carving tool) to carve the rest of the design. Take your time when cutting because you only get one shot at carving the pumpkin! Be careful and try to stay inside the lines. If you mess up the design you can always improvise and change the design a bit!
Light Your Jack O Lantern (optional)
Put the circle bottom of the pumpkin that was cutout in the beginning on the ground where you wish to place your pumpkin. Then, light the tea-light candle and put it on top of the cutout. Finally, place the pumpkin on top of the circular cutout.
You're All Set!
You now have a spooktacular pumpkin to display! Hop you had fun!
