Wavy Pedestrian Bridge
My name is Logan Larsson, and I'm 13 years old in 8th grade. I have been 3d modeling for 5 years, and tinkering since I was born. This is my bridge design, made in fusion 360. In my design I wanted to make a bridge that didn't look like every other bridge, while still being strong and functional. The purpose of this bridge is to provide a passage for people walking over a small body of water, like a creek or pond. My inspiration came from water, and how water can be rough or smooth. Sometimes it can be bumpy and wavy, while in other areas, it appears smooth and calm. In my design, I modeled is based on these characteristics of water. The wavy part of the bridge represents the challenges one might face in difficult situations, much like trying to navigate through rough water with waves. On the other hand, the straight part symbolizes the idea that even when you encounter waves in your current situation, there will always be a place where the water is calm and the journey becomes smoother. This bridge aims to guide you towards a place without waves or stresses. Although the bridge may seem simple in its appearance, the arch shape I chose is actually quite remarkable. Not only does it add beauty to the structure, but it also provides excellent strength. The arch shape is known for its ability to distribute weight evenly, making it a sturdy choice for making bridges, despite its basic appearance. I think my bridge design shows how even a simple shape like an arch can have so much strength and can be implemented to any area.

Fusion 360- to design and render the bridge
Intact.design- to stress test the 3d model (sorry I couldn't afford the Fusion 360 add-on)
3d Printer- to make the wave
Wood- to make the walkway and the railing
Final Design
Here are some of the glamor shots. To make the bridge stronger, so it so it can hold more weight, I added little ridges to the sides of the waves.
