Wall Decor With Rice & Grains
Art comes in various forms, shapes, sizes and colors. Since the time I have moved into my new home, I have been constantly looking for creative ways to decorate my kitchen. While the idea of using natural raw grains was on my list, this contest truly inspired me to actually work on achieving that unique wall decor idea.
Supplies
1) 8 variety of grains as rice, green gram, pigeon peas, chickpeas, moth beans, black gram, dried white peas) in 1/3 cup quantity
2) Glue
3) Wooden Frame (9 in x 9 in)
4) Paper
Collect the Grains
I put into bowls all the 8 grains and made sure its clean and dry.
The Diagonal Pattern Board
In this diagonal pattern, I first added the glue on one of the corners of the square box. Then, carefully added one of the grains starting with green gram, then added glue on the second half of the diagonal and added black gram. This completed the first left square. Later, I added glue again and then spread the chickpea carefully on the diagonal and in this way, I continued adding the glue and the grains with caution and care. Slowly, all the 9 squares were filled in with the grains. I let it dry for a couple of hours. Then, tilted to remove anything excess. With this the first wall decor tray was ready.
The Parallel Pattern
In this pattern, I split each square into vertical and horizontal half. Then, added the glue and spread the grains carefully. This appears a real cool pattern with the colorful grains. Keeping contrast colors and maintaining the horizontal and vertical lines distribution, I created this pattern. Let it dry for a couple of hours.
Hung these on my kitchen wall and it looks stunning.
I hope you enjoyed this simple yet creative kitchen wall decor idea! Thanks for stopping by.
