I have a delicious apple cake recipe passed from generation to generation to myself
It is absolutely a delicious apple cake and has a different twist than other apple cakes
This Eastern European apple cake will make your mouth water and make your whole house smell like fall
This is a recipe I will never forget and it is so simple to make

This is a recipe I will never forget and it is so simple to make

Ingredients
125 grams softened butter or 1/2 cup butter
4 room temperature eggs
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
3 tsp cinnamon
2 1/2 cups flour
5 аpples shredded
Handful of chopped walnuts (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps
First cream together the butter and sugar
Separate the egg whites and yolks
Add in the egg yolks one by one into the creamed butter
Next add in the vanilla
Whisk together until smooth
Add in half of the milk and whisk until nice and smooth
Next in a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
Set aside
Next in a separate bowl, add the flour and the cinnamon and also the baking powder
Mix until combined
Add in half the flour mixture into the butter sugar mixture
Mix until smooth
Pour in the last half of the milk and mix until smooth
Add in the last half of the flour and mix until fully incorporated
Next add in the chopped walnuts and fold them in
Pour in the shredded apples and fold
Lastly fold in half of the whipped egg whites and set the other half into the fridge
Pour the batter into an oiled baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 37-45 minutes
After it's been baked throughly and when a toothpick is inserted comes out clean
Then get the cold egg whites out of the fridge and beat until fluffy again, add in a couple tablespoons sugar
And spread on top of the warm cake
Place into the broiler or blow torch the topping until nice and colder brown
Serve warm
