Very Easy and Cute Coin Purse
This coin purse is simply amazing. It is a blast to make and will fill you with pride whenever you look at it. The best part about this craft is that it is fun and functional! It is not just something that will collect dust.
Supplies
- Tape
- Sissors
- Hook-and-Loop fasteners
- Keyring* (optional!! You will need this if you want to attach your coin purse to a backpack or bag.)
Frame of the Purse
Cut a piece of clear packing tape about ten inches long, and carefully fold it in half so that the sticky sides will attach. Try to be as careful and precise as possible, and it might help if you start sticking the tape together at the crease of the fold. This is your purse's frame.
Assemble Part 1
Put a small strip of tape at the end of one side of the folded piece, but make sure part of the tape is hanging off.
Assemble Part 2
Roll the other edge over and attach it to the sticky side of the hanging tape to create a hollow tube shape. Try not to fold it over, but roll the edge in just slightly.
Assemble Part 3
Attach the sides on one opening of the tube with a piece of tape so that you now have something that resembles a bag or bucket with a solid bottom.
Flap
Attach a piece of tape that is less than 6 inches long (the exact length will depend on how long you want your flap to be) and attach a small part of the sticky side on the inside of your purse. Fold this piece of tape over so that one side of the tape is attached to the inside of the purse and one side of the tape is attached to the outside. You should have a thin, smooth flap for your purse.
Hook-and-loop
Get some hook-and-loop attachments with sticky backs and attach them to the inside of the flap and the outside of the bag so that they will be able to stick together and close the bag.
Extra Keychain Step
If you want a keychain on your purse, cut a very thin piece of tape and make a shallow fringe at the top and bottom at about 1/2 of the way from the end of the tape.fold these edges over so that you have something that roughly resembles a "T" turned sideways. Now fold the tape in half so that there are sticky tabs where you folded in the fringe. Attach one sticky tab on the front and back of your purse and loop a keyring onto it.
