This Jewelry piece was heavily inspired by one of my favorite anime shows that I've watched and enjoyed with friends many times. The symbol is from the Uchiha clan , representing courage , intelligence and Power.

Supplies that were used in this project were :

C-clamp

Saw frame

Safety Glasses

A piece of 5 In by 5 In of metal (Rose quarts, silver)

Polisher

Sand paper

Cloth

a tub of acid

And Torch

Sketching

The First step to a successful piece of Artwork , always start with a sketch and brainstorm.

I had a few ideas at first it started with making a King symbol as a charm or a necklace and then i brainstormed to do a pattern and add some negative and positive space but none of those ideas stand out for me so i continued to brainstormed until the idea of making a ring came up to me .

I liked the idea so I went through with the idea and ended up with the idea of making a symbol and learning to make a ring out of it . It was my first time making a ring so I had the perfect teacher to teach me , Mrs.Khan.

Sketching to Metal

IMG_3424.jpg

One of the first steps to continue my project was to place the sketch onto Cookie paper and glue it to a piece of metal .

After placing the sketch unto metal you let the glue dry for an hour or so .

When the glue is dried enough you can continue to step 3

Sawing the Metal

IMG_3426.jpg

After an hour or so , when you know the glue has dried up you can start sawing the metal and following your sketch .

For me I had three small pieces to saw and make sure I didn't loose when i continued with the next piece .

Sand Paper You Piece

When you have your pieces and done sawing them , you have to get a cloth to place your piece's and Sand paper ranging from 200, 600 , 800, and 1000. Grab your first piece and start with 200 sand paper , scrub your piece with the sand paper going up and down until you see scratches all over your piece and then go side to side and from and back of your piece. From there go up to 600 and 800 and repeat the process till you get to 1000.

Soldering

Step five is the most cautious step you have to take to make sure your safe and others .

In this step you will need a torch and soldering chips to place in between your pieces.

I placed my pieces in the white brick and added flux to the sides i wanted to place together . after I added flux to the sides I wanted to place together , I added soldering chips to stick them together , I turned on the torch and brought it down to my piece gently until i see my piece glowing red or until i see the chips and flux turn white. I let it cool down until i can see the original color.

Letting Them in the Pot of Acid

IMG_3451.jpg

After i saw the original color come back from my piece I placed it in the pot of acid and let it there overnight.

The next day i pulled it out of the pot not with my HANDS but with a tonsil and placed it back on the brick to dry up.

When its done drying I gently grabbed my piece and approached the sink and washed the whole piece . After grabbing paper towels and drying my piece I grabbed sand paper again and repeat step four .

Sandpaper Your Piece Again.

After drying your piece , grab sand paper with ,200 , 600 ,800,1000 , and repeat the process . Start with 200 and scratch the piece up and down and side to side , don't forget to do it back and front of your piece. Repeat the process till you finish with 1000.

Polishing

When your done Sanding your piece with the 1000 Sand paper , Your start the polishing machine to polish your piece .You'll need a small cup of water , some paper towels , and glasses . Grab your glasses to protect your eyes and grab your piece with a strong grip from the corner and approach the polish machine going side to side so it polishes every surface of your piece. After a while take your piece away from the polish machine dip it in the cup of water and pull it out , grab your paper towel and rub off the black gunk that left from the machine and repeat the process till you see your whole piece shining under the bright light.

Reshaping It to a Ring

After finishing polishing your piece you grab you Nylon Hammer and a Jewelers hammer and place your piece at a width you want your ring . Hit your piece until it starts getting rounder and watch out for your fingers. When you hit your piece all around it till you get your ring remove it from the Nylon hammer and Great job you've successfully made a ring

Congrats

I was a little timid on starting this piece because it was my first piece as a ring and i was happy it came out just like i imagined it will be, and i want to thank my teacher Mrs.Khan and the reader that took the time to read this and see my process .
