Turn a Pepsi Bottle Into a Harrier Jet!
maybe you already saw the Netflix documentary about this pepsi fail where the brand offers a bizar deal to get a harrier jet for 7 million pepsi points. This story was very amusing and fascinating so i thought about how to DIY a Pepsi harrier myself. The design of this fighter jet is based on a pepsi bottle and with the use of cardboard elements its transformed into this final model. Enjoy the project if you like to recreate it! :-)
Supplies
- printer + paper ( 3 sheets of A4 / US letter )
- cardboard sheet from packaging ( best advised to use thin 1,5mm cardboard )
- acrylic paint + brush or better: spraycan
- crafts knife + scissors
- hotglue gun + all purpose glue
- marker + pencil + cutting mat
- bottle of Pepsi of course :-) ( more bottles if you want multiple logo's )

Preparation
obviously, start with getting a bottle ;-). remove the label und put aside. Paint the cardboard panel on one side. Keep in mind that the less water is in your paint, the better the result will be without deforming the cardboard. I think a spraycan would be best result but didnt had that laying around in my shop at the moment. Let dry for a while and probably the cardboard will curl. I just put some weight on top of it so it could dry flat again and it worked for me. When dry, flip it over and repeat the process. Print out the template in this project. Cut out all these parts.
Cut
Cut out all the traced parts and adjust the slots to the thickness of your material. If the parts dont fit probably, you could just glue them. Use a marker to draw a line on the bottle and cut in two. Use scissors to cut the pepsi labels to the right size. Is used labels of multiple bottles, 2 500ml pepsi bottles and 2 250 ml bottles to get the logos i wanted to have.
Assembling
Now you can start building the elements and i advise you to use the video to see where all the parts need to go. When you are going to use the hotglue on the bottle, keep in mind that the plastic reacts to the heat and might shrink or deform. always start with the glue on the cardboard, let cool for a few seconds and then connect the parts.
Decals
Final step is using the all purpose glue to fixate all the logos and your beautiful pepsi guy jet is done! :-)
