For the paper beads, you will need an old magazine with colorful pictures, mod podge or decoupage glue, a toothpick and Q-tip.

Tear out a few pages from a magazine. Cut into strips 10-1/2" long that are 1/2" wide at one end and 1/4" wide at the opposite end. Start with the 1/2" wide end and begin wrapping it around a toothpick. when you get about 1/3 of the strip wrapped, apply a small amount of glue with a Q-tip onto the rest of the strip and continue wrapping until it is all around the toothpick. It takes a couple before you get the hang of it. Be careful to not get any glue on the toothpick. Slide the bead off the toothpick and set down on wax paper and allow to dry. I made about 65-70 beads for my necklace, string it onto dental floss until you have it the length you want. tie the ends in a knot. I like to make these while I'm watching TV.
