This creative idea is the next upgrade to tumbling tower block by the kids. This is from the Christmas party we had last winter in 2022. With kids at home it was fun time. As we were enjoying and celebrating we also wanted to keep the kids busy and be creative. While we asked them for making geometric design patterns, we additionally came up with the idea to make wall art.

Join me in watching the steps in making this wall art by our 'Creative Kids'!

Supplies

Tumbling tower blocks (3-4), Square (10 in x 10 in) wooden frames, acrylic colors (pink, green, red, beige and white), wood glue [and the most important of course kids :-):-) which is not on the supply list]

Design the Patterns

This was the most curious and creative stage. Since we were asked this to be a surprise, I wasn't able to click the steps in forming these patterns. But they are pretty simple. You can see the steps with the color blocks when I took pictures of the steps. For more details, see the steps below. Well, some kids did create the patterns, but did not have the patience to color and then arrange them.

Color the Blocks

In this stage, the kids colored these blocks patiently one by one and let them dry for roughly 1 hour. They also colored the frame in white.

Pattern One - Red & Green

In this step, the kid neatly place one by one block in the red and green pattern by using the reference pattern. However, the challenge here is the color combination needed with two different colors of block. This was completed by maintaining the symmetry, geometry, the edges and lines by sticking each one with the glue and letting it set down carefully.

Pattern Two - Pink & Green

This is another pattern with the pink and green blocks. One by one, this kid placed the blocks to make sure the color combination matches well and builds the pattern with an attractive finish.

Pattern Three - Red & Pink

This was another pattern which was built keeping the colors and being adjacent and how the pattern takes shape. Got job really.

Arranging the Wall Art

As we watched the kids play with the blank and colored blocks, we admired them for the creative and talents they were exhibiting while doing this. I am expecting the other kids to share their patterns to hang it on the wall soon. Maybe it will be ready by next weekend or next party.

Next time you have a party or family gatherings, this could be a way to explore.

Thanks to all the kids for making this simple and wonderful artwork!
