This is a nice way to show pride and hold all that loose change that has been lying around in various places.

Things You Will Need

For this project you will need:

  1. an empty container of some sort (the first one is a nut container the second is a thing drink mix packets came in.)
  2. paper (a couple sheets depending on the size container)
  3. scissors
  4. glue
  5. ruler
  6. knife
  7. glitter
  8. loose change

Prepping the Paper

First things first measure how tall your container is. Use that measurement to mark how much paper to cut off. Mark it on one side, then the other. Use the ruler to draw a straight line connecting the two points.

Oh No Math :(

Divide the measurement by five. (There are five stripes to the transgender flag.) Since my container was six and a quarter inches my segments will be one and a quarter inch each. Draw a mark for each segment using the same method as before to make straight lines.

Cut It Up

Cut of the bottom line. Make sure your paper fits around your jar. Some jars may require addition pieces of paper.

Glamorous

Add glue to one stripe, careful to stay between the lines. Add appropriate color glitter and allow to dry. It is best to do one color at a time. This may take some time.

Coin Slot

Grab the lid and cut a hole big enough for a coin to fit through. Be careful, knives are dangerous. Kids get your parents to do this part for you.

Finishing Up

Glue the paper to the jar and pop the lid on and you have yourself a new (and cute) piggy bank.
