Tiny Flapping Origami Swan

Today I am going to show you how to make a tiny flapping swan.

Because it is so small, you can't flap it as easily. I would recommend

using standard origami paper if you want a good flap.

Cutting the Square

I made mine 1" by 1" but you can use any size.

Folding the "base" Fold

Fold in half diagonally both ways. Then flip it over and fold it in half both ways again.

Condensing

First pinch together the first two folds, then the next, and so on,

until you get a triangle with all the folds on the left side.

Tricky Step!

This part is tricky so follow the pictures carefully! Take the top layer and fold up to the right side of the triangle.

Press where my thumb is and it should lay flat.

Repeat on the other side.

Adding a Head and Neck

Pinch the top and bottom slightly and note the space that opens.

Then fold up on one side (see picture). Now fold back down and flip inside out so that it is on both sides.

Do the same thing for the head.

Finished!

Now that it's finished you can grab its tail and head and pull back and forth rapidly.

It should flap! Please vote and comment!
