TinkerCAD Arrow Keychain

Supplies

* Computer

* Access to TinkerCAD

* Internet connection

TinkerCAD Sign In

To join, go to the TinkerCad website: Tinkercad.com

Create Username and Password

Click “Join Now” and create a username and password.

Create New Design

On the main page, click “Create new design”.

Initial Cylinder

Drag out a cylinder from “Basic Shapes” (assume “Basic Shapes” unless stated otherwise), and change the height, middle white square, to ¼ in. (assume ¼ in. for the height unless stated or shown otherwise) The rest of the dimensions are shown. (dimensions are always shown if not stated)

Initial Roof

Drag out a roof and rotate the right arrow -90 degrees.

Grouping Shapes

Place the new shape behind the cylinder, and align the shapes vertically, the bottom middle dot (to align shapes, select the shapes you want to align together, and press L. Hover over a black dot to see a hint of how the shapes will look once aligned. Click the black dot that matches how you want the shapes to be aligned). Group the shapes (to group shapes, select all shapes you want to group by clicking each shape while holding shift. Then press Ctrl+G).

“Hole” Round Roof

Drag out a round roof and rotate both the right and bottom arrow -90 degrees. Change the round roof color to “hole”, and place it on the right side of the solid shape.

Side Cuts

Duplicate the round roof (to duplicate, select the shape you want to duplicate and press Ctrl+D), and mirror it width-wise, also the bottom arrow (to mirror, select the shape you want to mirror and press M). Place the mirrored round roof on the left side of the solid shape, and group everything together (refer to step 6).

“Hole” Roof

Repeat step 5, and change the roof color to “hole”.

Bottom Cut

Place the roof in front of the solid shape. Align the roof to the middle of the solid shape vertically and group the shapes (refer to step 6).

”Hole” Cylinder

Repeat step 4, and change the cylinder color to “hole”.

Middle Cut

Place the cylinder in the upper middle part of the solid shape. Align the cylinder to the middle of the solid shape vertically, and group everything together (refer to step 6).

Toothpick

Drag out a toothpick from “Making at home”, and rotate the bottom arrow 45 degrees. Hold the black cone above the toothpick and lift it ⅛ in. off the workplane. Drag the toothpick in the middle of the cylinder from steps 11-12. (dimensions are the same as the cylinder just mentioned)

Center Cross

Duplicate the toothpick and rotate the new one 90 degrees (refer to step 8). Group the shapes together (refer to step 6).

Scribble

Drag out a scribble and draw a line that curves slightly to the right. Click “Done” when finished.

Duplicating Scribbles

Place the scribble in front of the solid shape on the right side. Duplicate it 3 times (refer to step 8), and move each new scribble over ⅛ in., moving the last two forward ⅛ in.

End Fringe

Duplicate and mirror, width-wise, another scribble (refer to step 8). Drag it in front of the solid shape on the left side, and repeat the second part of step 16. Then group everything together (refer to step 6).

Torus

Drag out a torus, and change the height to ⅛ in., along with the “Tube” to 0.05.

Final Step!

Place the torus behind the solid shape, and group the shapes (refer to step 6).
