Thyme and Chile Infused Olive Oil

If you love to add a spicy touch to your meals you should try this delicious infused olive oil. The flavor of thyme, garlic and dried are perfecto to provide a touch of flavor to your favorite meals.

I love using it for appetizers with Italian bread, such as focaccia.

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
  • Fresh Thyme leaves
  • 2 garlics
  • 1 Piece of “Chile Ancho”
  • Glass bottle

Wash Leaves

Wash Thyme leaves with water. Tip: the richest taste comes from fresh Thyme so it is a good time to get your own plant and keep in a pot in your kitchen.

Dry Leaves

Dry Thyme leaves in the sun over a napkin. In around one hour they will be dry and ready to use.

Prepare Garlic and Chile Ancho

Peel garlic. Cut in halves. Cut Chile Ancho is small pieces.

Add Oil to Bottle, Garlic, Chile and Herbs

Fill the bottle with olive oil. Add garlic, chile and herbs. Close can. Your oil will start getting the flavor of the Thyme, garlic and chile. You will see than in around 15 minutes the oil will start changing color but it is recommended to let set the flavor for 3 days before eating it.
