The Snake and the Snails

This is a simple game of chance for children. It is inspired by the board games that are a course with squares that indicate that you do some action (like the Goose Game).

The idea is that the players make a tour and they found there are unexpected movements in the ranking, making the game very dynamic and without taking too long.

STL Files for 3D Printing

The design of the snail file (cargol.stl) is by user BS3, from the Cults platform (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/free-snail). It has an Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike CC BY-NC-SA license, and has not been altered (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/).

The dice was created in Fusion 360 by myself.

SVG Cutting and Engraving Files

I have created the box in the MakerCase platform (https://www.makercase.com/#/), which is a SVG file generator of boxes, and you can customize it with the measures you need (capsa.svg).

The thickness of the wood of the box is 6 mm, and the lid will have a decorative engraving with the title of the game, the Snake and the snails.

The game box consists of 6 pieces that are assembled by fitting together by fingers.

The snake is drawn in Adobe Illustrator, and from there I have been drawing the outline to create the outline, which will contain the path and an initial and final box to contain the tokens. The cut file will be the outline of the snake plus the containers, which will be an emptying. The outline is cut and will be in red color, and the two containers are marked in another color, to make the emptying half a centimeter deep.

Instructions

The instructions are only one page. The rules are very simple.

Preparation of the game
The players (from 2 to 4) are placed in the starting square, located at the tail of the snake. All participants roll the dice and the participant who rolls the highest number of dice starts. The turn goes clockwise.

How the game works
The player rolls the dice. If it lands on a black square, his turn is over. If the square is occupied, he automatically moves to the next free square. If the player lands on a red square, he moves back 3 squares. If the square is already occupied, he automatically moves to the next free square behind it, and will not move back if the square is red, thus ending his turn. The winner is the player who passes first from the 22nd square.
