The 3D Printer Filament Maker

This design is a complex masterpiece and one of the only self working filament maker that can turn recycled objects, such as a plastic bottle, into 3D printer filament. This is a cost effective and time worthy product that makes even the best filament machines jealous. Throughout the last 2-3 weeks we have been working on an idea that would make you not have to worry about the 3D filament running out in your house or workshop. Our design has key features that can improve the likelihood that the filament has a pretty high chance to work correctly.

• A 3D printer.
• The certain amount of saws, like the Miter Saw, Table Saw, and other tools.
• A plastic bottle.
• An Extruder.
• A Motor.
• A small box with a razor in it.
• Wood

These are the three brainstorming ideas that took us from the starting process to the end of the project. We personally went with the first one A, because it worked the best in our favor. These ideas transported into the final design and made the pieces fall into place. This idea would be the most cost effective and productive 3D printer filament designer.

This is the Fusion drawing that was created based upon the idea of the design. As you can see in the photo you have a motor attached to the spool holder and rotates the spool when the filament in produced onto it. The bottle and the bottle holder is on the right and is where the bottle will be cut into a strip that fills out into filament from the extruder, which is in the middle. The Base is wood and so is the box where the razor is and the holder for the spool and the bottle. You have to have a motor and an extruder for this design to work.

This is the final design and we did not get a product done and finished to have as a prototype. The overall idea was great and we made a very good design, but ran out of time to create the final product. This is though the design and you can make it anyway you like since the product was not made, but the design could help you throughout your process building this. Happy Building.
