Tetra Tower
Hi All,
I came across a new game, which brought back my childhood memory of playing Tetris.
What is liked about this tower,
- This is a physical game,
- A mobile or laptop is not needed to play the game!!
- Improves hand-eye coordination
- Improves thinking power
While Tetra tower is available in some countries but is currently unavailable in India.
So decided to make one using Tinkercad.
Supplies
- 3d Printer (I have ender 3)
- Tinkercad
- White and blue PLA filament
Base
- To make the base, add 6 boxes of dimensions 40x40x20mm
- Add a semi-circle and adjust its dimensions to 180x65x20mm
- Arrange all boxes in line and then move them by 20mm and group
- Now rotate this group by 45 degree
- Bring the semi-circle and boxes together and group them to form a base
- Adding text is optional
Block 1
- Add as box for 40x60x20mm
- Add two holes(boxes) for 20x20mm
- Align a hole and a box to the left and top, group them
- Then align the other hole and the box to the right and bottom, group them
- We have our basic shape, We could leave it to this or go one step further and add holes to give it the final look we want as shown
- Each wall is 1mm thick
Block 2
- Add a 40x40x20mm box
- Add 4 holes 18.5x18.5mm each
- Align the holes such that there is a 1mm thick wall everywhere and group them
Block 3
- Add 40x60x20mm box
- Add a hole 20x40x20mm and group them
- Add Holes to leave a 1mm think wall everywhere and group them
Block 4
- Add a 80x20x20mm box
- Add 4 holes as shown and group them
Block 5
- Add 40x60x20mm box
- Add 2 holes 20x20x20mm and cut the two corners
- Add Holes to leave a 1mm think wall everywhere and group them
Variants
- Over a period of a few days, I create a few variants of the base and blocks
- Base
- Easy: The base is a bit flatter
- Medium
- Hard
- Blocks
- Hollow
- Solid
- Solid with groves
- All files are available on Cults3d
3d Printing
- I used Ender 3 to print it
- Base
- White PLA
- 0.28 Resolution
- no Supports
- Infill: 5%
- Infill pattern: Zigzag
- Blocks
- White and blue PLA
- 0.28 Resolution
- no Supports
- Printed 2 sets
I painted blocks with Acrylic colors since I did not have any other color filaments. After painting the blocks are a bit sticky, I can recommend not to paint them at all
How to Play
- This is a two-player game
- Each player places a block of their choice on the base to start building the tower
- A player cannot touch the base
- The player losses if any of the following are met
- He/she cannot place a block or the block fells off the tower
- Makes the tower unstable and topple
- Accidently topples the tower
- Suitable for kids and adults above 5years
