THE HORSE
AHOY, in this article we will be learning how can we reuse a cardboard to make beautiful sculpture of horse as a piece of decorative hand crafted item.
NOTE :- all the images posted are according to the order of making the horse, from left to right and top to bottom
Supplies
we will be needed with the followings :-
- cardboard
- toothpick
- cutter
- scissor
- paper
- basic stationary
Making Pieces
- firstly we need a picture of horse to understand its body structure to help us making its different body parts
- but before cutting pieces from cardboard, we need to cut a template before to manage the proportions of horse.
- now cut out the numerous pieces from cardboard with the help of template. note here if your cardboard is coloured like as mine the cut the mirror images of each part like as i did but if you are going to colour them afterwards then no need to worry.
Middle Pieces
- lets start with the tail, the tail is made up of three pieces, lets punch the holes join those pieces together with the help of toothpick
- take a middle piece of horse body and attach tail with toothpick
- now punch hole in neck piece and head and sandwich the head between both the neck pieces and attech them with toothpick
- now sandwitch neck pieces with the remaining two head pieces attach them with the same toothpick
- now insert horse middle piece inbetween neck piece and punch a toothpick. you can always take help of images provided above. till now horse's body is done, it's time to to give him few legs
Th Legs
- Attach correct pair of pieces of legs with each other by punching holes and inserting toothpicks. By now we should have two pairs of legs.
Giving Body Four Legs
- sandwitch the middle piece from the two panels from each side.
- insert toothpicks to make points necessary to attach front legs from both the side individually and do remember we can't transverse a single toothpick as it will obstruct the movement of neck so this step is crucial and take help of th images provided above
- as you are aware that the legs are double layered so insert inner layer of legs into the toothpicks for all the four legs then comes a layer of middle piece then the outer layer of legs. its like between both the letters of legs there is a belly piece of horse. fir more clarification checkout images.
- now sandwitch again three body from the panels from both the sides.
Final Touch Up
- here comes the final touch up to our horse, remember the templates of gives and ear, with the help of template cut out for hooves one for each leg and two wear from a sheet of paper and stick them with the help of glue.
finally our horse is ready to rock.
Have fun :)
