THE DRUNKEN PUMPKIN THANKSGIVING COCKTAIL
HERE IT IS! THE DRUNKEN PUMPKIN!
JUST IN TIME FOR THE CANADIAN THANKSGIVING BUT GREAT FOR ANY FALL OCCASION!
IT'S A TASTY FALL TREAT BUT YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT'S IN IT.
HERE'S THE "DO" AND THE "HOW"
INGREDIENTS
2oz Bourbon (for a sweeter cocktail) or Canadian Whisky (for a cleaner, leaner cocktail) note: both types in MOST cases have the same percentage of alcohol
1/2oz Vanilla Liqueur (various producers - find the one that's right for your palette. We used Navan Cognac Liqueur)
A Jamie Oliver squeeze of fresh juice from half a lemon
A tablespoon or so... of Pumpkin Puree
Several dashes of Fee Bros Old Fashioned Bitters (Angostura will work also)
2oz Autumn or Harvest or Pumpkin or Seasonal Ale (local is always best)
METHOD Combine over ice in cocktail shaker. Seal and Shake aggressively. Double or fine strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon zest and a swipe of cranberry puree in the glass!
It goes down amazingly well! HAPPY THANKSGIVING HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY HAPPY WHATEVER YOU'RE CELEBRATING
2 of these and Uncle Hank will feel like your best friend! CHEERS!
