T-Shirt Twine Bracelet
I've been really into bracelets/cuffs the last few months, which is probably why I've been making/planning so many instructables about them. My goal is to create jewelry that I want to wear and creating instructables for the process has been great for getting me to actually finish pieces.
This Instructable will show you how to make simple bracelets out of the t-shirt twine I made last week.
BoM
T-Shirt twine or strips of t-shirt
End caps and other findings
Charms, beads, other embellishments
Fabric glue and/or Epoxy
Thread or jewelry wire
Jewelry tools (pliers, wire cutters, scissors, etc.)
End Caps
Measure out the length of you want your bracelet to be (usually around 7") and cut the twine from the roll.
Take one end of your t-shirt twine and tie a knot. You can add fabric glue to further secure the knot. I recommend using E600 epoxy to glue the knotted end of your twine into one of the end caps. Let dry completely. Repeat this with the other end.
If you're using a ribbon clasp then you can probably skip the glue. Just secure the clasp in place with pliers.
Embellishments
You can decorate your bracelets by adding charms, beads, wire, etc. I also like to sew in beads with bright colored thread. This not only makes a nice contrast, but it gives more security to the twine.
Final Touches
The last thing to do is add jump rings and clasps to your end caps. Twist the jump rings open with two pliers, don't spread the jump ring. Twist the ring back into place to close.
