Sweet Honey Garlic Salmon
When it comes to showing fish recipes I always hesitate. First, I wish I could say that we eat a lot of fish in my house and we are super healthy but the truth is we don't eat that much fish and we wont talk about the healthy part.... Secondly, it is hard to make fish look pretty and convince others that it taste amazing. But here I am trying to convince you that this is the salmon recipe that you need in your life! I mean how can you refuse a sweet honey garlicy salmon? The sweet honey and garlicy part I was hoping would convince you, hopefully I did but the salmon is also perfectly cooked, flaky and full of flavor! I served my salmon with a bed of wild rice and it was perfect (I also added fresh parsley to the top to make it even more pretty). If you want to make your own Sweet Honey Garlic Salmon, then follow the step by step guide below or watch the video tutorial here:
Ingredients and Tools
Ingredients
- 2 Salmon Filets
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- Parsley
Tools
- Lodge Cast Iron Skillet
- Fish Spatula
- Pyrex Mixing Bowl
- Pyrex Bowl 3 set
- Misc. Kitchen Utensils
Season Salmon
Season salmon with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat Skillet and Add Salmon
Add oil to a large skillet over medium high heat and once your skillet is hot, add in the salmon skin side down.
Cook Salmon
Cook salmon for 5-7 minutes on skin side and then carefully flip salmon (once skin is crispy). If you find that the salmon isn’t wanting to release let it cook a few minutes longer.
Add Garlic
Add garlic to the pan and cook for 30 seconds (stir constantly so garlic doesn't burn).
Make Honey and Lemon Sauce
Mix honey and lemon juice in a small bowl. I rolled my lemon on my table to release the juices inside easier.
Add Sauce to Skillet
Add honey sauce to the skillet with the salmon. Continue to cook salmon for about 2 minutes or until fully cook and sauce has thickened.
Peel Salmon Skin
Take the salmon off the heat and when cool enough to handle, peel off skin.
Plate Salmon
Plate salon and garnish with parsley the honey sauce from the skillet and enjoy with a side of rice of veggies.
Enjoy!
Enjoy this beautiful dinner salmon dish!
