As I was looking for something fun to do with my strawberry and raspberry tea bags, I thought I would make some fruity iced tea drinks.

Ingredients

Tea

  • 8 fruit tea bags (any flavour but I like strawberry and raspberry)
  • boiled water
  • 2-3 tbsps sugar (or honey or agave nectar)
  • Ice
  • Lemonade (or sparkling water)
  • Fruit (I used strawberries and blueberries)

Brew Time

Brew the teabags in a large teapot filled with boiling water.

Leave for about 10 minutes.

Transfer to a large jug to help the tea cool down.

Decant into a clean bottle.

As I'm not storing this for any length of time I didn't sterilize the glass bottle, just gave it a good wash with hot water.

Time to Serve

Add fruit and ice to your choice of glass. I used small glasses so only had one strawberry and about 5-6 blueberries.

You could use large tumblers or even a mason jar.

Add the cooled tea until the glass is about 2/3rds full then top with lemonade or sparkling water.

By serving it this way, people can choose how strong they like their tea and whether they want to add some fizz to it.

I'm told that sparkling white wine might be a good addition too.

Enjoy in the Sun

Decorate the glass with a strawberry or slice of lemon and enjoy.
