Sugar Skull Banner
I love to choose a color scheme when decorating for a special occasion. It makes the design stand out and it's way easier to make the elements work together.
This years halloween decor is going to be black and white. It's sophisticated and modern. I love it!
The advantage of working with paper is that there are many colors to choose from, even metallics or pearled. Just pick the one that goes with your other decorations.
We'll be working with an electronic paper cutter. I own a Silhouette SD (it's the older model of the portrait). It's so useful and such a good investment. I'll share the file I made, to make your life easier. So let's get started!
Gather Your Materials
A silhouette cutting machine (portrait, cameo, sd)
Glue stick
Paper or cardstock
Scissors
Thread
Needle
A tulle roll
Cut the Skull
Download my file.
Put the paper into the mat.
Load the machine with the setting "load with mat"
Let it do its magic
Because the design is very detailed, cut it using a low speed.
Carefully peel it off the mat.

Glue
Glue the tabs with glue stick.
This will make the skull 3d.
Cut the Tulle
To complete the design, and create contrast, let's make some classic triangles.
Cut the tulle ribbon in the shape of triangles
Assemble the Banner
Use a long thread and a needle to assemble the banner. The white sugar skulls really stand out next to the black triangles.
It's perfect to decorate your mantel, door or candy table.
