Stuffed Bell Peppers
Have you ever tried stuffed bell peppers , well whether you have or haven't you will love these classic stuffed peppers. The bell pepper goes perfectly with the rice and beef and all of this is complemented with the perfect yet simple seasonings.
Ingredients
For this recipe you will need:
1 pound of ground beef
1 large carrot
1 large piece of celery
1 cup of tomato sauce [or your favorite spaghetti sauce]
salt and pepper
olive oil
3 large sweet bell peppers
1/2 cup of brown rice
1/2 of an onion
1 clove of garlic
parsley and basil
Preparation
To begin go ahead and start cooking the rice. Next get the vegetables
[onio garlic celery and carrots] and finely chop them. one you are done move on.
Saute
now using the finely chopped vegetables and olive oil put them in you skillet. keep stirring until they are much softer, now on to the next step. while this is going on pre heat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Beef It Up
get you ground beef and toss it in with the vegetables , cook the meet until it is fully cooked this won't take long. once the beef is fully cooked turn the heat all the way off,and mix in the tomato sauce, the pan will still be hot and might splash so be carful. by now the rice should be done so mix that in and the filing is done!
Stuffing the Peppers
Start by cutting the peppers down the middle and scooping out all the seeds. Make sure to leave the stem for this keeps the filling from spilling. place the pepper half into a bankable dish. Using a spoon scoop 2-3 spoonfuls into each pepper.
Baking
the next and final step is to place the peppers in the oven for 20 minutes, once the timer beeps all you have to do is cool and they are ready to eat!
