Stuff As You Go Loaf
Things you’ll need
- Round load of bread
- Scallions
- Bacon
- Your favorite cheese (I like cheddar!)
Tip #1 Use A Very Sharp Knife
Fry up the bacon, I used about 3 pieces on the loaf above, but you can add as much as you desire! While the bacon is cooking; cut the loaf in a tic tac toe sort of pattern making sure you are cutting down to the bottom of the loaf without piercing the bottom. Also dice the scallions and set aside in small bowl.
Stuff and Bake
Tip #2 Cut The Cheese Into Thin Slices
Now cut off pieces of the desired cheese and begin to stuff all the crevices. Once finished take the bacon and crumble it on top of the loaf then add the scallions. Wrap in tin foil and bake on 350 F for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Suggestions:
- Dice up garlic and stuff it in with the cheese. (Make sure it is very finely chopped!)
- Drizzle olive oil over the loaf to add some flavor.
- Serve with a dipping sauce. If no garlic or olive oil was added to the loaf ranch or garlic aioli makes a nice southwest twist! Otherwise marinara is a great dip!
