SpongeBot (Codename: Goosebumps) is a cluster based robotic bathroom cleaning system. The system comprises of singular sponge units that then collaborate to reduce the labor needed to thoroughly polish any surface. Each sponge unit has 5 segments that are joined by springs that allows the segments to bend and give the sponge unit the ability to go around corners. In addition, each segment has two high power fans that create a low pressure gradient between the wall and the robot. This technology gives each sponge the ability to scale walls. On the top of each segment is a liquid container that contains the soap of choice and the inside of each segment holds water for cleaning operations. At the bottom two holes are found that mix the two liquids into a leaning solution. The bottom is also made out of a sponge based material and each sponge segment has multi directional wheels that allow the robot to maneuver on two axis. Lastly ball bearings on the last and first segments allow the robot to maneuver corners and bends more efficiently. The entire design was made in Autodesk Fusion 360 and the public link to the file is: http://a360.co/2gNcJsy. This design could be simple but effective and I would love to take it one step forward.
