Space Saving Hand Tool Storage
Storing screwdrivers and such with pegboard hooks was taking up too much space. So I got to thinking, what could I do to increase the number of tools stored in a relatively smaller space yet still readily accessible.
Supplies
Scrap plywood. I used 3/4"
Two screws
Measure and Cut Board
Measure your available space. I wanted to add this board across the top of my bench space. I cut two pieces of 3/4" plywood and glued them together. The more clamps the merrier.
Locate and Drill Holes
I decided on two, offset rows of holes. With a scrap piece, I drilled a few holes to determine the required sizes. 1/4" is a good fit for most Phillips head screwdrivers, while 3/8" worked for the rest. I angled the board so my holes weren't perpendicular once the board was mounted.
Mount Board and Load Tools
With the holes drilled there is nothing left to do but attach the board and load up your tools. I used a hole on each end to run a screw thru into the wall behind.
