Soft Christmas Cookies
Ingredients:
453 grams of plain flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of slat
227 grams of margarine softened
300 grams of granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Making the Dough
- Weigh all the ingredients.
- Sift all the dry ingredients together and set aside.
- Cream the margarine and sugar, beat in the eggs one at a time than stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until fully combined together.
Preparing and Baking the Cookies
- Cover and let the dough rest while you preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and prepare the trays with parchment paper.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut out cookies.
- Gently place the cookies on the prepared tray and bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes or until edges are barely brown. place on cooling tray.
Icing
- As the cookies cool mix a little bit of water with icing sugar in a bowl and add food colouring you can use a fork or a spoon to mix this together and you ice the cookies. Enjoy!
