Socket Organizer for Tool Box | CNC Project
Are you tired of opening your Toolbox and searching for hours to find the right socket, Maybe not that long. LOL
So I had a idea, you can buy these Foam insert organizers, but they ain't Cheap. Why not make my own, so I did.
Supplies
You will need:
CNC Cad Program
CNC Router
Harbor Freight Anti-Fatigue Mats
Wide Blue Painters Tape
Utility Knife
Spray Adhesive
Piece of Melamine Board, at least 24" x 24"
1/4" Downcut or Compression CNC Bit
Your Socket set
Apply the Blue painters tape to the Melamine board and bottom side of Foam mats. Spray a coat of Adhesive on both parts. Then attached them together, use some boards and weights to hold down flat, for at least a Hour.
Note might not have to leave them for a Hour
I then had to measure every socket, Ratchet and etc. I played with several layouts, but this is what I came up with.
Open Vectric Aspire, or other Cad program. In Vectric, this is the Layout that I came up with. Later after carving the first design, I did change the Layout some.
Then I took the Melamine board with the Foam attached, fasten in to my CNC table. I then installed a 1/4" Compression bit, and began carving. After carving the first one, I had to change a couple of things, one was the Speed Wrench, it was harder to draw, but then I decided to put my Ratchets closer up front. That's when I came out with version 2.0.
Pratice makes Perfect
This is what it looked like after finding all my Sockets. Don't this look so Neat, Now I can find my sockets so easy. Thanks for checking out my Instructable.
