Soap Modelling is one of the ways to make 3D models.

You need the folowing :

  • Soap
  • Divider
  • Cutter (Different sizes)

The process is very simple and you just need to take care of basics to make any shape. The soaps are very soap and thats why they are easy to cut. And for the same reason they can't be used for models which are expectd to bear stress.

We cut sections in order of their size starting with the biggest one. Next, the cavity section goes out. You need to be careful cutting this section as you may end up damaging the edges. Refer to the last section on final touches.

Cutting Small Cavities

Since, the bottom of the block has intricate edges, it is preferred to take it up in last. Let us first cut out the upper cavity. Use the divider to mark points and small cutter to make minor cuts on the surface. Slightly deepen these cuts and repeat this until the entire part loosens.

Cuttting the Slant

Next, we need to cut out the slant from the block. Use divider to make marking. Keep the cutter along the marking and push it through in one go. Repeat the process for other slant.

Final Touches

For final touches, remove the flakes from the surface by sliding the cutter along the surface. In case any cavity doesn't has fine surface, take 2-3 droplets of water and wet the area, smoothing out it with cutter.

If you have cutted any extra piece by mistake or have stray marks, take small piece of soap and slightly wet it and fill it in those cavity.
