Smartphone Strap

So this Lazy Old Geek (L.O.G.) has a Pixel 3 XL smartphone. Since I’m OLD, I like the bigger size as it’s easier to read and easier to text, though I prefer to use a stylus.

Well, my dog Sadie and I like to take walks every day often in heavy brush. Well the bigger smartphones don’t fit very well in shirt pockets so I always worry about it falling out. So I’ve been adding straps to my shirts to hold it in.

So I decided to get teched-out for the procedure, headlamp for illumination, reading glasses to see better, my Trekz bone conducting headphones playing 60s rock music.

The supplies I use: sew-on velcro strips and a piece of an old dog leash.

Procedure: Put smartphone in pocket, cut a piece of the dog leash to attach to pocket flap and the pocket, sew the strap to the flap, sew one side of the velcro to the strap, sew the other side of the velcro to the pocket.

By the way, I inherited the sewing machine from my mom. My previous experience was probably 30 years ago when I helped my mom sew a down sleeping bag. So I retaught myself how to sew with help from the Internet and my cousin. One thing I ‘discovered’ this time was the reverse button on the machine, so handy. Despite sewing for a few years, my skills are terrible but good enough for me.
