Slow Cooker Pot Roast.
So here we go again. Time for another easy dinner that you can fix in advance so that everyone has a hot meal. Today I will show you how to make a simple slow cooker pot roast.
This is a simple recipe that doesn't take a long time to prepare.
Great for a cool day like today. I know it is only 41, but in the south, many consider this a winter cold snap.
Shopping List
To begin with here is your shopping list.
- Pot Roast
- Seasoning Packet
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- Onion
- Beef Broth
Cut the Veggies
Cut the veggies into about 1" pieces.
Add in the Veggies & Broth
Once your vegetables are cut up, add them into the slow cooker, starting with the potatoes on the bottom.
(Someone asked in a previous Instrucable how big my cooker was, so here is a picture with my hand as a comparison.)
Add the Beef
I placed the roast into the cooker and sprinkled the seasoning on top of it. Additional seasoning was sprinkled into the broth.
For this, I put the seasoning on the beef, and kind of rubbed it in dusting off so the extra goes into the broth.
Set Your Timer
Set your cooker on Low for 7 - 8 hours or High for 4 - 6 hours. I made a mistake and set it to high for 7 hours to begin, but changed it before it was too late.
Annnnnd Done. (Serve and Enjoy)
Now that it is done. remove the meat from the slow cooker if possible. (Depending on how long you cooked it for it might be REAL tender.
Take your roast out of the cooker and cut it up. Serve next to some of the vegetables from underneath.
