Soap Based Flubber (Non-Toxic)
Let's make bath time fun and safe!
Do your kids love playing with play-dough or squishy stuff?
Do your kids avoid bath time?
Then this is the perfect recipe for you!
Flubber is a fun and engaging play medium. Many store bought versions, however, can be harmful for the skin. This recipe is safe for use on your body since the base uses soap/body wash with no added chemicals.
I highly suggest letting your little ones craft this themselves with adult supervision. The kids will enjoy making the flubber and playing with the result!
Supplies
- Bowl
- Spatula
Ingredients
- Hand Soap or Body Wash
- Cornstarch or Flour
- Cooking Oil
-
Food Coloring (optional)
Mix All Ingredients Together
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl with a spatula:
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Liquid Soap
- 3 tablespoons Cooking Oil
At first it will have a consistency similar to icing and then it will slowly become more dough-like.
Tips:
- During the mixing process, you can adjust the quantity of the cooking oil and cornstarch to either water it down or stiffen it up, respectively
- If using flour instead of corn starch, use a bit less as flour will result in a dryer flubber
Pinch Off Some Slime and Wash Those Hands!
The flubber is now complete.
Place near a sink or a bathroom for easy access.
When using the flubber, pinch off a small section, and rub it vigorously between your hands.
It should start to foam and soap up.
Enjoy a safe, soapy, and doughy bath time!
