☆ I enjoy upcycling jewelry... do you? Well I understand that you may not have the exact same watch case as the one I used but that's okay. Any old watch case with a lens will work. ☆

Supplies

• skull bead : approximately 20mm x 11mm bead made by Paracord company

24kt gold leaf

• gold leaf adhesive (speedball brand)
• gold leaf sealer (speedball brand)
• 2 flat small brushes (to apply the adhesive, and a soft brush for applying gold leaf and the sealer).

• already disassembled pocket watch case, only the side of the case containing the crystal lens.

• abalone shell that fits the size of your pocket watch inside.

• 1: 4mm round cubic zirconia

• 2 part epoxy ( I used Gorilla glue 2 part epoxy; use epoxy in a well ventilated area).
• 1 toothpick
• a cap or small paper cup or plastic disposable cup (for mixing the epoxy).

• 1 jewelry link ( to attach pendant to necklace chord or chain).

• 1 necklace chord or chain ( any size you want).

Note: if you don't have a skull bead or abalone shell that's okay... you can fill you watch case with crystals or stones, maybe mix some glitter into the epoxy for a galaxy look.

Adjustments to the Watch Case ( If Desired).

the case of the pocket watch with the crystal lens ( no other clock parts inside just empty watch case and lens) You can go right to step 2, or what I did was pop out the crystal lens with my fingers and turned the clock case around and push it through to the other side of the watch see photos.

Gold Leafing ( If Desired).

Since the pocket watch I used was a gold color, I decided to apply gold leaf to the skull bead that is going inside the watch case.
First appling the gold leaf adhesive with a small brush. Then after waiting 30 minutes, applying the gold leaf with my hands and brushing the gold leaf down on the bead surface with a small soft brush. No wait time and apply the sealer with a small brush. Let sealer dry for at least 30 minutes.

Epoxy Time and Pendant Assembling Time!

Mixed enough epoxy to fill the pocket watch case. Then poured a little of it into the watch on to the crystal lens. Now place the abalone shell on top of the epoxy on the crystal inside the watch case. Place the skull on top of the abalone shell in the middle and pour more epoxy on top of the skull. Fill with the epoxy to the top of the watch case. Place the cubic zirconia in any hole of the watch case where there might have been a button or dial ( so the epoxy doesn't leak out). Let the epoxy cure, waiting at least 30 minutes before the next step.

Now It's Time for the Jewelry Link!

Then open the jewelry link with the jewelry pliers. Hold the link steady with one of the pliers while you move your other hand and pliers from you to open the link at the separation point. Before closing the link add the pendant and close the link with the jewelry pliers.

Necklace Time!

Now you can slip a necklace chord or chain through the jewelry link that's on the pendant.

☆ Tada! ☆ If you happen to make a pendant out of a pocket watch, please share your pictures!
