Skinny Stackable Chevron Rings

Make your own easy neon rings with....a bit of 6 gauge wire (or twist ties with the paper stripped off for an eco-friendly *twist*) + nail polish + flat nosed pliers & a little tape.

Using your nail polish, paint a segment of the wire a little longer than the length of your middle finger. Just leave it there to dry if you're taking wire off from a spool. If you're using a twist tie, clamp it onto something or stab it into some Styrofoam to dry.

Prep your pliers by taping the ridged ends of the pliers with tape to protect the nail polish from scratching off. --------------------------------------------- Let's start bending: Fold the wire in half. Clamp the wire right next to the bent end and mark how far down the pliers the wire is. The closer to the "crotch" of the pliers you clamp your wire, the taller your peak in the ring is going to be. Split the two prongs of the wire to make 90 degree angles with the pliers. Now you should end up with a straight piece of wire with a thing sticking out in the middle.

Wrap the wire around a cylindrical object as if the little kink we just made isn't there. I did this around the handle of a screwdriver, which was a bit smaller than my finger. Now put it onto your finger and stretch the kink area out so it looks like the peak of a triangle. You should be thinking: "Ooh! Looks like a ring!" right about.... now.

Finish up your ring by joining the ends.... trim the ends off you have just enough to bend outwards and hook the two ends together. Clamp the ends down for a close-to-seamless finish.

Now make a bunch to stack!
