Simple Homemade "Taser"
This "Taser" is a gag item that uses the physics of electricity to create a weapon that you can use to "shock" your friends anywhere (Not sorry). The way it works, is that when you put a 9V battery to your skin, it won't zap, as your skin will resist the electricity, not letting it get to the other end of the battery. However, if you dab saltwater on the battery ends, and press it down on the skin, it will zap. The reason is that your skin acts as a series circuit, so the electricity has to get through all your skin in one go. Saltwater will make a straight path to the negative, and create an electric field. In that field, electricity can briefly enter your skin, and then nope out of there. Also called a parallel circuit.
However, please be cautious with your use of the weapon, and I am not responsible for any damage caused as a result of you building this project. Realistically, the biggest threat would be battery acid, but that is also very unlikely.
Supplies
Gather your supplies. They are: Salt, Water, a battery life tester, some 9 volt batteries, a watertight container, a syringe (Preferably with a cap) and finally, 2 sheets of disposable towels.
Quality Check
For this step, you need to use your battery life tester to check if the battery is good. It should land on "good", and if you are using a voltage measurer, the battery should have over 8.90 volts. If the battery fails the test, discard it, and repeat this step with a different battery. If it passes, move onto the next step.
Splitting the Salt and Water
To be able to bring your taser with you, you need to get small amounts of salt and water with you. Use the syringe to suck some water up, and put the salt in watertight container. Finally, wrap the syringe in disposable towel, to avoid accidental spills. Your taser is all portable now.
Arming the Taser
The first step in arming the taser is unwrapping your syringe. Then, you put all the water in the watertight container with the salt. Shake until you have an opaque substance.
Measuring Cups
Take a look at the image of the 9V battery. It has metal cups as the positive and negative end. Very convenient, no? Well, use these cups as measures. Extract the opaque solution with the syringe, and carefully fill up each cup. The taser is fully armed. Be careful not to spill the water, as it would trigger it prematurely.
ZAP!
Now, press the two ends onto your victim's skin. It should deliver a shock. Rest is up to you.
Cleaning Up
After you used the taser, use the towel to stop the circuit by removing the water. Make sure to press it down, and go over every single point. Don't throw it away yet, as you will use it to wrap up the watertight container that contains the saltwater. This is also as another protective layer to minimise spills.
Renewal
Now, you can repeat the attack temporarily, by just simply using the pre-made saltwater. Follow step 4 for how to arm taser.
The Cleaning Up
Simply make sure that the battery is dry, throw the towel away and wash both syringe and container. You can repeat this another day for even more shocked faces (Still not sorry). Safe electrocuting!
