Simple 1-Hour Brass Ring
For this simple 1 hour build you will need:
- 1 brass bvp male to male connectors
- A set of needle files
- A metal file
- A metal half-round file
- A metal round file
- Metalwork hacksaw
- Polishing equipment (optional)
Step 2: Cut the Two Sides Off
Clamp the male to male connectors so the middle nut part is facing you and then using your hacksaw cut the threaded sides off (see picture).
Step 3: File the Sides
Once you have checked the ring is the correct width for your finger the start filing the sides so that they are smooth and to remove and unwanted sharp debris, to do this I used a flat metal file and my set of needle files.
Step 4: File Most/all of the Thread Off
Now this is a bit of a creative step where you can choose your pattern to put on your ring, I chose to leave a bit of thread at the top of mine as I liked the look of it, however, you can put whatever design you want on your ring whether that be stripes or just plane lets your imagination go loose.
Step 5: Use Needle Files to Finnish Shape
Now you have finished your design you must use an array of needle files to ad the finishing touches to the shaping of the inside an out so that there are no rough edges and the sides are as smooth as possible ready for polishing.
Step 6: Polishing (optional)
For polishing my ring I used a polishing wheel and some cheap jewelry polish from amazon, you can polish as much as you would like until you have the desired shine.
