Shoe Rack
Hi, my name is Alex. Today I will be showing you how to make a cool shoe to make for your room or anywhere in the house you want to put it. This will make your room look better by adding character and being able to display your collectables or having your shoes on the display.
Supplies
The first thing you will have to do is get all the supplies you need for the project. I personally made 2 for my room which means I had to double on supplies such as wood. But for one shelf you will need 2 boards that are 1x12x10, 4x4x12 boards, screws, impact drill, tape measure, pencil, and a stain of your choice.
Measuring
The first step you are going want to complete is measuring out your boards to the length you want them to be. You will cut one 1x12 and the 4x4. The 1x12 board that you are cutting is going to be for the shelving. The length I cut my shelves at was 2ft. That way you have enough room to be able to display things you want to be able to. For the 4x4 you will cut at 12-inches so it matches your back board which is the full 1x12x10.
Cutting
The second step is to cut the boards. Each line you marked at you will want to cut at with either a circular saw or a miter saw. After you cut out your pieces you will want to check to see if they are the right length, you want them to be.
Setting Up
The third step is to line up all your pieces. You want to make sure every piece line up great and is flush with the sides. You also want to make sure you have all the parts you need. But another important thing you want to make sure of is if it is the design you want, to make sure you like it before you screw everything in.
Screwing Together
The fourth step that you will complete is screwing/ nailing everything together. When you do this, you will want to use small screws to drill through the top of your shelf, so it goes through the 4x4 block. Once that is fished you will screw from the back of your full 1x12 into the 4x4 to hold the two pieces on to the back. You will keep repeating this step with however many shelves you have.
Final Product
The final step to this project is to paint or stain the shelves of your choice. You will want to make sure to get in every crack and hole u may have made to make sure it all blends together.
