Self Watering Pot
The self watering pot is an inventisn that uses recycled plastic bottles. It pulls water from strings that are pulling water from the bottom half of the bottle. Its really easy to make and only requires 4 things. Design thinking is the process of creative thinking and the invention of new things. The design thinking process is important because it helps us invent new useful things. My design consists of a bottle of water cut in half where dirt and string are touching the water. The roots of the plant are sucking water from the string which is touching the water supply. Empathy is the feeling of putting yourself in the situation of another person. Empathy is really important in the design thinking process because as designer we have to be thinking about what the user wants and needs. In my case my user is whichever person who would like to be able to leave plants without having to constantly water them. The interpretation phase is when you hear the ideas or the opinions of people you try to interpret what they feel or think. The drivers are Grows water, Easy-to-use, Durable, Good results. Ideation is when you brainstorm ideas or blueprints to have an idea of how it's made.

Step 1: Cut the Bottle in Half
You cut the bottle in half and you see if it fits inside. To see if it fits you need only put the bottle side facing down.
Step 2: Making the Hole in the Cap
You grab the bottle cap and make a small hole. You will then pass the 2 strings through the hole and screw the cap into the bottle.
Step 3: Fill With Dirt
You go outside and you fill the top part of the bottle with dirt. You need to position the strings facing up so they spread the water throughout the whole pot.
Step 4: Positioning the Bottle
You have to fill the lower part of the bottle with water and you need to make sure thaat the strings are touvhing the water. After a few hours you should be able to feel the damp dirt.
