Scaffold Board Coat Rack

Not the Best Drawing, but hopefully it gets the jist of it over.

One Scaffold Board for the Rack, and one for the shelf.

A few small scraps for supports and your pretty much there.

You probably need the following to do the job

A Hand Saw

A Jigsaw

Some Long Screws 2 1/2"

Wood Glue

Tinted Wax

Sander

Supplies

A Scaffold Board cut into 2 lengths. This can be whatever Length you need to fit your wall.

2 lengths of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" wod for the supports at either end.

3x 1 1/2" blocks to seperate the shelf.

For the supports and blocks, i used scrap parts of the scaffold boards,s o everything was the same thickness.

Step 1: Measure and Cut the Scaffold Boards

For me i needed 2 lengths at 3'

Measured and cut.

Or if like me it's easier to watch a video here it is.

Step 2: Layout and Marking

Layout the Hooks where you want them.

I usually measure to the centre and then measure to the middle of each half, and so on.

After laying out, mark the holes for putting in the screws.

Step 3: Cut and Sand the Blocks and Supports

You can do this quite quickly by holding up the wood your using for the supports and drawing cut lines.

Cut the lengths you need and the angles with a jigsaw

Sand all your bits of lumber to around 120 grit.

Step 4: Wax and Finish the Wood.

Get all your lumber waxed and looking good.

Step 5: Add the Supports

Add the supports using wood glue. Clamp everything up for a few hours.

After this use some long screws to fix the top shelf.

Screw in the supports each side to support the shelf.

Step 6: Fitting to the Wall

Using Rawlplugs fix the unit to the wall

I created some pilot holes behind a couple of the hooks to fit it to the wall.

It is probably best to watch the video. I find watching and doing easier than laying it out in instructions.
