Roof Bulb
Roof Bulb
Introduction:
Hello everyone, the origins of this project are clear, you can find it as a liter of light, or else, the bottle of Moser. The idea of how a project evolves and is improved with the contribution of everyone, from being a bottle with water and chlorine, to adding leds and batteries. My project is an emerged version of necessity and opportunity. I had too much asphalt cloth, metallic mesh and I lacked metal plates, besides the fact that the roof was tile. I just adapt to what I had. I have had successes and mistakes in this project, which will undoubtedly help me in others. Also note is possible future use of leds in them.
The operation and application is simple to give light in closed or low light, through the refraction of light through the water and adding chlorine, which apart from preventing the proliferation of algae seems to retain light. The water seems to acquire a colloidal suspension appearance. The upper part must at least be one third of the same that protrudes from the roof which we will have drilled, or removed tiles. Lighting is 40-60 watts. Although the video and the photos correspond to a rather dark day.
We need: plastic bottle of 2 liters wide neck, preferable distilled water, chlorine, silicone and gun, plastic glue or glue, wire mesh, wire, cardboard, cutter, scissors, measuring tool, plastic tape, asphalt, Ladders, compas, chlorine, cutting pliers, caliper, ruler, pencil, ballpoint pen, indelible marking pen.
Recommended: Gloves to protect the hands of the wire mesh, or anyone you deem.

1 Step:
Measure the size of the tile and cut the asphalt fabric that is larger than the size of the tile. The first one that I made it big is the one of the aluminum fabric of the video. The others you make with a size of 30 * 20 cm were very fair, are reddish, have arrangement but do not commit. As I had to make several help me from a carton, the middle hole is about 8.4 cm in diameter.
2 Step:
Glue the top edges of the bottle with silicone, careful not to melt the bottle with the hot silicone, maybe filling the bottle with water prevents it do not know. The bottle with the asphalt fabric is very well fitted if the hole is cut well, the hot silicone fixes it and the plastic tail on the back side waterproofs it. If debris or threads remain glued to the tail once it is dry it can be removed with some ease or perhaps with oil and cotton. Once the queue has been set, wait 24 hours to dry.
3 Step:
Measure, cut and glue the metallic fabric that will make support, in addition the metallic fabric is glued by the bottom to the bottle and to the metallic fabric for greater subjection. In the first I did fit pieces of wire cloth that I folded over the wire cloth as a sandwich, in the following I did not do it but I do not consider it a mistake, you can try. What if it improved was that when cutting the square piece of middle and inserting it with the bottle is better fitted. I believe that in my life is the first time I use asphalt for something, if you feel motivated or handy, you can try to heat the asphalt with the metal grating I use the same hot silicone gun, but could also be used A welder, kitchen torch or similar, cigarette lighter ...
4 Step:
Put the bottles, you need a ladder, remove tiles without breaking them, that's another, and place it on top, so that no water enters, do not break the tiles and come back to tell us. Being so fair with the measurements of asphalt paper or cloth, I may remember this project for a while, other than I hope to soon put leds to the covers, batteries, panels simply change the covers and add the electronics you consider. Do not forget to fill the bottles with water and chlorine.

This project came out despite the rush, errors, etc. . It is very much improved, I hope I have explained in the best way possible.
