Rainbow Dream Catcher
Hello everyone, in this tutorial we will learn how to make a beautiful and very colorful dream catcher. This dream catcher serves to decorate your home or work space and thus have a more harmonious and full of good energy.
Materials
- A small hula hoop
- Scissors
- Iris wool
- White t-shirt yarn
- Strips of 2 meters long white t-shirt yarn
- Fork
- Needle
- Brush for combing wool pompoms
- Fabric paints yellow, blue, light blue and red
- Plastic containers
Prepare the Hula Hoop
Make a double knot in the hula hoop with the white t-shirt yarn and wrap it completely.
Make the Dreamcatcher's Web
Roll up some wool iris on a small stick to facilitate the creation of the web. We start by making a double knot in the hula hoop, at a distance of about 11 cm we pass the wool over and then between it as seen in the video. Before completing the first round, a small space is left to start the second round, to follow the web, half of the first round is taken and so on until the end.
Hoop Rim Decoration
Roll the wool over the edge of the hula hoop, taking into account that the shades of the edge and the web coincide. The separation between the wool is about 7 cm as seen in the video.
Prepare Paints for the T-shirt Yarn
We fill 7 plastic containers with a little water and in each one we make the following combinations:
- Yellow
- Blue
- Red
- Light Blue
- Yellow + blue = green
- Yellow + red = orange
- Blue + red = Violet
Paint the T-shirt Yarn Strips
Fold the 2 meter strips of t-shirt yarn in half and soak them in half in each of the paints of the rainbow tones, then drain them and let them air dry for a day.
Hang T-shirt Yarn Strips
To form the rainbow effect, in the lower part of the hula hoop we fold the trapillo strips in half and hang the strips of yellow, red, orange and violet tones. Then we take the strips of shades of green, blue and light blue and distribute them laterally.
Trim T-shirt Yarn Strips
At the bottom of the dream catcher make the shape of the letter "V" with a strip of t-shirt yarn and ribbon, then cut to give the desired design, as shown in the image.
Creation of Pompoms
Roll the iris wool on a fork until you have a good amount of wool, then through the middle of the fork we pass a wool of about 30 cm and make a couple of knots, then take the wool from the fork and cut the ends, finally with the brush comb the pompom to give it a better shape. Make 13 pompoms in the same way.
Decorate the Dream Catcher With Pompoms
Place the pom-poms on the hoop at the bottom left as shown in the image.
