Quinoa Upma
Quinoa is super food. Being a good source of high protein, good source of iron, magnesium and many essential nutrients it is higher antioxidants grain.
The texture of quinoa is soft like daliya( broken wheat) on cooking this seeds become translucent .
Quinoa does not take much time to make I prefer making quinoa upma for my breakfast and also in my dinner we usually add lots of vegetables while preparing quiona upma which makes it a whole meal.
Adding nuts give a unique flavour we love quinoa upma with kaju and peanut we make sure not to skip this while making this delicious upma. You can enjoy quinoa upma with coconut chutney, idli podi, curd or pickle.

Supplies
Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cup quinoa
3 and 1/2 cup water ( mesure water from same cup you measured quinoa)
1 finely chopped small onion
1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
1/4 cup boiled corn
3 green chilli finely chopped or as per your taste
2 dried whole chillies
1/4 tsp tumeric
1 tsp mustard seeds
1tsp chana dal
Few curry leaves
2tbsp cashew/ kaju
2tbsp peanuts
1 lemon juice
Coriander to garnish
Rinse Quinoa
Drain water completely tranfer in colander and keep aside.
Start With Tempering
Now add curry leaves onion green chili saute till onion becomes translucent.
Now add finely chopped capsicum, finely chopped carrot and boiled corn( You can more vegetables of your choice but make sure you chop them finely before adding) saute on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Then add turmeric saute for half min then pour water add salt as per taste and then close the lid and let it come to boil.
Cooking Quiona on Boiling Water.
Stir onces or twice inbetween.
To Know Quiona Is Cooked.
Serve this quinoa upma with coconut chutney or idli podi or curd and pickle.
Tips While Making Quinoa
* Quinoa to water ratio is the key to get perfect and fluffy upma. One part of quinoa and 2 parts of water works perfect and gives good results. with this ration you will never get mushy upma so alwys take care while adding water while cooking quinoa.
* If you are cooking first time and are not familiar of how quinoa cook without getting mushy then we would suggest you not to cover quiona while cooking till it absorbed all the water onces it's cooked and water is evaporated remove it in another vessel and cover it let the quinoa steam for 5 min.
