Quick and Easy Glowing Earrings
If you choose to use only glue you can make them within a hour, excluding drying time.
Busy, Busy, Busy.
It is Christmas time! The period before Christmas and New Year's Eve is usually a very busy time. The house has to be cleaned, decorating the Christmas tree, buy groceries, buy presents: you name it. Just leaving little time to make things or presents. So here is an easy instructable, quick to make, for a pair of earrings to let you or your loved one glow at Christmas and New Years Eve
What You Need
White glue
Stud earrings base
2 Dried flowers
Luminous pigment
Brush
Toothpick
Glue (I used Patex repair gel)
Sanding paper
A pincushion
Small scissors
Optional (if you like to make it stronger)
Resin
Preparation
Mix some glue with water, about 60/40
Gentle brush the glue over the flowers, with a toothpick you can push some glue between the leaves. Let the glue completely dry.
Mix some glue with water, about 70/30 and mix with some luminous pigment. If you have one teaspoon of mixed glue/water than use about 1/3 teaspoon luminous pigment. Brush the flowers completely with this mix and let it dry.
Assembling
Cut of the flower stalk as close as possible near the flower. Carefully sand the back of the flower till you have a flat base that fits the ear stud. Place the studs on a pincushion, glue the flower on the stud and let it dry. After drying, you have a pair of beautiful glowing ear studs you can wear at Christmas and New Years Eve.
Option
If you like to make the earrings a bit more sturdier you can cover them extra with resin. For mixing the resin follow the instructions of the resin you use. After mixing, pour in some extra luminous pigment and cover your ear studs again while they are still on the pincushion and let them dry. Do not use resin on dried flowers that are not covered with glue, the outcome can be very poor and disappointing.
